Skin treatments in King's Cross: boosters, polynucleotides and microneedling

Three ways to improve your skin itself, not the shape of your face. Here is how to choose between them, and how they work together.

Skin that looks tired usually needs one of three things: more hydration, some repair, or a smoother surface. Each of my skin treatments does one of those jobs best. None of them add volume, and none of them will make you look “done”.

I see every client myself, from consultation to aftercare, at my clinic on Pentonville Road in King’s Cross. It’s a short walk from King’s Cross St Pancras, and clients come from Islington, Camden, Farringdon and across London.

Which skin treatment is right for me?

A rough guide:

If your skin…Start with
looks dull, dry or dehydrated, and has lost its bounceSkin boosters or Profhilo
has started to sag or soften along the jawProfhilo Structura
is thin, crepey or sun-damaged, especially under the eyes or on the neckPolynucleotides
has uneven texture, enlarged pores or acne scarringMicroneedling

If more than one row sounds like you, you’re not alone, and that’s where a plan comes in.

Skin boosters and Profhilo

Injections of hyaluronic acid that hydrate the skin from within, soften fine lines and bring back your glow. I offer Profhilo, Profhilo Structura, Teoxane Baby Glow, Lumi Pro and Seventy Hyal. Profhilo is usually two sessions, and 90% of my Profhilo clients come back for the second.

Polynucleotides

Purified DNA fragments that support your skin’s own repair, collagen and elastin. They are the one to look at for delicate under-eyes, crepey necks and sun-damaged skin, and they work best as a course of three.

Microneedling

Fine needles make tiny channels in the skin, which responds by building fresh collagen. I finish each session with exosomes to support recovery. It is the one for texture, pores and scarring, and it works best as a course.

Can I combine skin treatments, and in what order?

Yes. A common order is repair first, then hydrate: a course of polynucleotides to improve the quality of the skin, then Profhilo or another skin booster to hydrate it. Microneedling can run alongside either, on separate days, usually at least 2 weeks apart from injections into the same area.

For example, if your skin is both crepey and dull, your plan might be three polynucleotide sessions 4 weeks apart, followed by two sessions of Profhilo 4 weeks apart, with a maintenance session of each after that.

Different areas can also be treated at the same time. For example, Profhilo for the face and polynucleotides for the under-eyes over the same few months. I’ll set out the order and spacing for your skin at your consultation.

Skin treatments work best as a course, so I offer courses that cost less than paying session by session:

Frequently asked questions

Which skin treatment is best for skin over 40?

It depends on what your skin is doing. Dry, dull skin usually responds best to Profhilo or a skin booster. Thin, crepey or sun-damaged skin usually needs polynucleotides. Texture and scarring call for microneedling. You may well benefit from a combination, planned in the right order.

Can I have more than one skin treatment on the same day?

Sometimes, on different areas. On the same area, I keep microneedling and injections on separate days, usually at least 2 weeks apart. I’ll plan the timing with you.

How far ahead of an event should I book?

Plan your treatment for a time when you don’t have anything coming up. Skin treatments build over weeks, so for a wedding or a big birthday, start your course two to three months ahead.

Do I need a consultation first?

If you’re not sure which treatment is right for you, a consultation is the best place to start. It costs £30 and is fully redeemable against any treatment on the day. If you already know what you want, you can book the treatment directly and we’ll talk it through at the start.
